Whatever chaos the world delivers to her feet, Rip knows two things for certain. First, she will die defending what is hers and protect the things she's claimed with every fiber of her being. The second...Is that of everything she's fought hard to attain and all the pain and suffering she's endured or inflicted on others, there is only one person that she would willingly die to protect.

And he happens to be sequestered away in the middle of a forest with her in a log cabin that Rip spent time making habitable before stealing him away from the world.

Currently, Rip was making sure the fireplace was stoked to fend off the cool evening air. Fall was quietly turning into winter and Rip wanted to make sure her pet human was comfortable. Soubi ment everything to her and she would make sure he knew it.

Duplicity: Opt-Out

Due to the nature of Rip van Winkle and her canon, it's probably safe to have an opt-out post just in case anyone feels uncomfortable with playing against her.

For anyone that doesn't know much about Hellsing, Here and hopefully that will give you a basic understanding of the world she comes from. Beyond that, Rip is violent and has no problem talking about violence and gore without any known filter. The same goes for sexual exploits if she thinks it might disturb someone. She is very manipulative with her words and is a vampire....A Nazi vampire. Where I do tend to tone that down a bit, it is still very much part of who she is and at times her experience during the second world war does get eluded to on occasion.

I understand that this makes people feel uncomfortable. Also please understand that Rip is a very horrible person. I, as the player, am not and completely understand if you would like to avoid CR with Rip for that reason.

Personality:

There are several facets to Rip's personality that are displayed in the short time we get to know the huntress before her death: she is childish, brutal, unhinged, manipulative, and determined to defy her fate, all the while accomplishing the task she has set out to do.

When we first meet Rip van Winkle, she is singing to herself and loading a gun. She seems to be the very image of a soldier going off to war and anticipating the fight that is to come, while displaying confidence mixed with talent, exhibiting remarkable skills. She even seems to be relaxed, despite knowing she has a very real responsibility to the mission. After all, who is going to trap the devil? Rip has been wanting another chance at Alucard since their very first encounter during the previous war. This is why she became a vampire! It was to hone her skills, and became such a formidable sniper amongst the ranks of the Letztes Battalion. Rip is yearning to prove herself against the biggest monster in existence. She wants to do this for a chance to defy the fate she fears awaits her.

The Huntress is aware that on some level she will fail and fears that failure and what it may mean for her own personal goals. You see, The Major compared her to a character within a German Opera that had made a deal with the devil and then tried to slither his way out of it. The Hunter in the Opera died at the Devil's hands. Rip took this comparison to heart and like her 'fictional' counterpart, made a deal to gain power so she could triumph where she failed before. Only this drove her determination to defy suffering the same fate. This determination shines through for a brief flickering moment at the end of her fight with Alucard when she fights back her panic and her fear, the very things that are preventing her from doing what she's dreamed of! In that brief moment she attacks, displaying all her pent up anger and aggression for not being taken seriously and tries to maim the Dark Hunter! Ultimately, she fails and in doing so suffers the very ending she was running from. Though, even if she did fail her personal goals, her mission goals were full filled, something that earned her a warrior's death instead of being set on fire like the others. Rip's one of the very few that get this honor with in Millennium. After all, her entire goal was to trap Alucard on the ship, and that... was very successful.

Because of her time in the military, and potentially some of the things she's seen during wartime, or perhaps it was always there to begin with... Rip is well versed in tactics to take down her prey such as simple manipulation with her words and even her looks. She is more than happy to use this to throw people off kilter just so she can get them just the way she wants them, unaware and easy to take down. To her it is a wonderfully bloody game that she plays to toy with them. Case in point, how she handled the remaining British Soldiers on the HMS Eagle when she landed. She asked them a simple question after congratulating them on their victory. 'What was it like to damn your fellow soldiers to eternal damnation and to walk the Earth as rotting corpses?" To hear someone asking that while smiling moments after praising you would throw anyone off and she knew it. To her, it was a perfect set up for what she wanted to do next... to kill the traitorous limey bastards. Such a game gives her great pleasure! After all, it's not often she can hunt such despicable prey and enjoy a little bloodshed. Why, it's her very duty as a loyal member of Millennium!

There is no denying that she is brutal with her killings, almost predatory with the way she loves to toy and dispatch anyone that comes in sight of her musket, even helicopters that many would argue are too far away for such a shot. But, Rip derives pleasure from the destruction of her enemies, even becoming artistic in her approach at times and simply revels in it. What she's doing doesn't bother her in the slightest. It feeds the bloodlust that all vampires have which is something she and all of Millennium embrace.

Then there is the side of her that comes out while she waits. When there is no fighting or a need to punish others, Rip can appear to be calm. She may even appear to be pleasant and sometimes childish with the people she interacts with. She can be seen waiting patiently for the right time to begin her attack, and even calm on the helicopter ride over to the Adler. You could say it's her in-between state when there aren't intense emotions to motivate her actions. In this particular state, she can be almost rational just as long as something doesn't set her spiraling into something else, whether it be a need to kill or perhaps just pure joy from listening to a favorite song.

When she is excited and happy, she can be found humming and singing-- especially when the excitement finally starts! She begins to dance and toss her musket around like a baton once she fires her shot, dazzled by the mayhem. This display would almost seem innocent and childlike if it were it not for the explosions, or the weapon being tossed around. In this state, she is her most unpredictable. One moment she may be singing the next she may be tearing someone apart or aiming her musket at her next target. It's at this point that she is most alive and lost in the moment until it passes. This moment she appears youthful, almost innocent in a childish way and unlike most of the other members of Millennium, with the exception of Schrodinger.

As for her likes, you could say they are simplistic. Rip enjoys music, especially operas. There is something in the music that calls to her, helping her express the purity of emotions one could otherwise not attain. At the same time, she enjoys her crafts in hunting. As an accomplished sniper, it's not hard to imagine that she is rather good at hunting down wildlife and enjoys slaughtering them just as much as she does humans. Perhaps in more creative ways, to spare the parts of the creature she wishes to keep for herself.

Now her fears. When Rip experiences any emotion, it's intense. Fear is no different. In fact, the sheer volume in which she expresses her fears can freeze her in her tracks, rob her of her confidence, and leave her a crying, trembling little girl, unsure of what to do. This initially happens when she meets Alucard on the Adler. She felt his massive presence and panics as he slaughters her entire crew. It takes her a bit to regain her determination and fight back, but when that fails, she falls back into an intense fearful state that leaves her helpless to the devil's actions, resulting in her painful death. Rip fears being powerless to a monster more powerful than herself. She fears her death by his hand, but because of the intensity of this fear, she ends up causing the very thing she fought to avoid. It's this reason that her death seems to be the most tragic out of the main Millennium's officers.

Considering Rip's canon and backstory, this is proobably something that needs to be done. Though, the thing to note is that this version of Rip has lived past her original death by over 30 some years before being found by Alucard and brought to Starhue Valley. As a result, she's a lot more quiet and subdued than her usual counterpart. This also means she's not as violent or as psychotic as she would have been as her canon counterpart.

Starhue Valley: Rip AU version

Rip was a solider devoted to The Majors cause right up until her death by Alucard. She used his cause to try and further her own ends, desperate and eager to prove to herself and especially to those that dismissed her that she was a worthy soldier and huntress. This pure desire drove her to accept being a vampire and then spending the next fifty years training and hunting to sharpen her skills with her chosen gun, a Jezail musket to the point where she could take aim and shoot down multiple targets with one shot!

Nothing escaped her sights and she took pride in that very fact. Right up until she met Alucard on the battlefield a second time. He completely overwhelmed her senses, sending the huntress into a panic that resulted in the deaths of her crew and eventually, her own death at his hands. He impaled her to the wall by her own musket and then devoured her, claiming her soul for his very own.

Rip only knew darkness from that moment on. She was in some void with millions of other voices trying to overwhelm her and make her one of the millions. Yet, she resisted. Rip did NOT want to loose her sense of self and everything that made her.. HER. She screamed and fought against the darkness, the insanity! She remembered vaguely being forced into a battle and then burned, only to return to the void.. only the voices were less and less now.

Rip did not want to die, she wanted to live.. to survive! She threw everything she had into her desperate desire and finally, she saw a light! An end to the darkness and insanity. She emerged onto the remains of what was once London, the dawn after the battle that raged through the night caused by The Major. With pure destruction and death all around her, Rip finally realized that the destruction she so craved really looked like. It opened her eyes a little as she wandered off the battlefield, seeking to learn more about what happened and to find a place to hide during the day.

For a time Rip wandered and learned more about the modern world. She visited battlefields but never participated in the war of humans against humans. She found there was no more artistry in war, not in modern days anyway. The more machines became involved, the less appealing it was to her.

Eventually she wandered from city to city, taking lovers for a time. But, there was always something that made her control on that unending hunger of hers slip and she'd murder a few humans and be forced to move. During her time wandering she had to come to terms with both her unending hunger.. and the fact that it was driving her to madness. The insanity and hunger seemed to go hand in hand! She fought it, tried to control it even! But, no matter what she tried...she always slipped up.

That lead her to consider isolating herself from humanity and with that in mind, she returned to Brazil. She settled in an abandoned bunker in the jungle. She fixed it up and made it her home. She worked on controlling herself. This lead to the childish and mercurial huntress becoming calmer as time passed on. As she slowly gained more control, she felt there was something missing.. something darker she couldn't explain.

Thirty years passed and she felt that darkness tug at her.. and it scared her. Rip knew that feeling! She needed to run... and so she ran.

Discovers that Schrodinger's there and is delighted to see him
Displeased that Integra's there.
Meets Marco and Namur for the first time with her first post
Meets and becomes friends with Grell
Gets tailed by one of Integra's deputies and ends up attempting to kill him. Integra binds Rip to her as her servant as a result.

Since she wasn't infected by the virus, she gets punished for killing Killian. Cannot look at a weapon without feeling the fear of all of her victims. Touching makes her feel guilty over killing Hook.
Has a breakdown, Bonds a little more with Bucky
Gets ratted out by Loki for stealing the shield when he returns it.
Valentines day: Glitter Bombed. Went to boardwalk with bucky. Got a teddy bear with a top hat.
Bucky kills Rip on valentines day for taking the shield.
Rip returns after spending a week under the ice, not happy and demands that Bucky help her warm up by the fire.
Lays low for awhile. Hunting scarce and starves a bit.
Loki disappears for a few weeks and when he returns Rip greets him. Loki became good, makes a deal with Rip to continue supplying her with blood just so long as she doesn't murder or steal anymore. Best behavior. Rip agrees.
Becomes a little more withdrawn attempting to be 'good'. Focuses more on hunting.
Gives Bucky Rabbit furs for his birthday. Go out hunting with him. She's starving because of lack of prey that winter and fighting to keep in control of herself.
Meets Gold's son. Now has another kid she has to be 'nice' around.
April First: Goes searching for Bucky since she hasn't seen him in while. Learns that he and Steve are an item.
Does NOT take it well. Flies into a rage. Steve and Bucky pin her to try and calm her down and end up sending her into a panic attack. Manages to eventually calm down, explain why she panicked.. and what she actually is. They try to convince her to make her own way, change.
Rip avoids them for most of April after that.
Rip runs into Kanaya from time to time.
Rumor War II: Fairytales. Rip gets turned into a Bakeneko [Cat yokai]. Enjoys lounging around like a cat for a week and enjoying the sun.
Goes to Ball with Kanaya and is forced into a green dress. Would rather go with someone she hated than with someone she doesn't know. Both take the opportunity to torment each other. Bucky and Steve along with Rip confront their captors at the ball and then get away.

**NOTE** This is where she diverges into her time in Cerealia

At this point in time, Rip is walking a fine line between her bloodlust and her control and it's only with Bucky, Steve and Loki's along with Kanaya's influence that keeps her from falling over the edge.
She comes to terms with Steve and Bucky being an item and is just content to have Bucky as her hunting partner she occasionally flirts with. Considers both Steve and Bucky close enough to call friends
She's still coming to terms with being a soldier without purpose and slowly trying to find a way to give herself purpose and make her own life for herself.

Rip meets Sebastian and Ciel. She's not a fan of the Phantomhive household.
Sebastian takes an interest in stalking her and slowly pressing her buttons to drive her closer and closer to loosing control.
She meets Seimei, Soubi, Ritsuka and Osamu. Very wary of Seimei.
Rip has to share Loki with Tony Stark.

Year Three May 2015 - May 2016
Sebastian finally manages to push her over the edge of here control after months of stalking and pressing her buttons. He threatens her dog. --> this has a breaking effect on Rip.
She retaliates by torturing Ritsuka and taking his eye as a trophy. also drank his blood and got drunk off of it.
Loki punishes her by cursing the eye she took so she couldn't hold or touch it without feeling the pain that she inflicted on her victim.
A day later, Sebastian finds her, tortures her and tears out her right eye and tears off her right arm as punishment.
Bucky finds her and brings her home. Patches her up as best he can. Also missing her glasses so she's essentially blind.
Sebastian visits and breaks one of her legs. Kanaya finds her and makes a splint for it.
Seimei approaches her and offers her power if she becomes his fighter...Rip reluctantly agrees.
Asks Gold for a new place to live and wards around her shop and new home. She moves and has to adapt.
Eventually gets her arm back.
Steve Rogers refuses to have anything more to do with her... and Bucky follows him.
Both Steve and Bucky leave. Loki refuses to have anything more to do with her and leaves as well.
Rip is left alone and abandoned with only Gold and Dolorosa and Kanaya as her last remaining friends.
Seimei uses this opportunity to try and break her down.
Kanaya leaves.
Rip becomes reclusive and following more and more of Seimei's orders.
Gains the attention of Chibichibi who wants to try and redeem her.
Quiet Halloween
Just vaguely observes Christmas...
Ignores Valentine's Day due to memories associated with it from last year.

**Note** Where Rip was feral and predatory in her second year, the fight and punishment from Sebastian broke her spirit and she never quite recovered. She struggled to find meaning in everything anymore and was just going through the motions. Loosing the support from the ones she trusted most had a very negative impact on her.

Year Four May 2016 - May 2017

Rip is following Seimei's orders to gather more information and to torment more members of the Phantomhive estate.
Eventually attacks Osamu and takes her ears and tail as a birthday gift for Ciel and leaves them for him. Makes it look like someone else did it.
She becomes even more reclusive.
Went into the catacombs for a few months and arrived back in January 2017.
From there, she just quietly observes the world around her and keeps her head down. Only occassionally making remarks.
Rip is nearly completely alone now. Only Dolorosa is left of her group of people she cared about.

**Note** Rip fell into a deep depression at this point and lost all sense of self worth as she watched the world essentially pass around her.

May 2017 -July 2017

Rip watches as the world starts to unravel around them.
When the end comes and portals to other worlds begin to open, she's reluctant to go through any of them.
It's not until Vlad Tepes comes through from his own dimension that she even considers leaving instead of staying on a dying world.
Goes home to Castlevania with him to be with her adoptive father. Rip's missing an eye and still very ragged looking.

At this point, Rip has lost everything and every one she's ever cared about and has just become numb to the world around her.

Personality:

There are several facets to Rip's personality that are displayed in the short time we get to know the huntress before her death. She is childish, brutal, unhinged, manipulative and determined to defy her fate while accomplishing the task she has set out to do.

When we first meet Rip van Winkle she is singing to herself and loading a gun. She seems to be the very image of a soldier going off to war and anticipating the fight that is to come while displaying confidence mixed with talent and skills. She even seems to be relaxed despite knowing she has a very real responsibility to the mission to trap Alucard. She's even eager for the meeting since her failure against him the first time they met during the second world war. In a way, her desire to prove her worth against him is what drove her to this very moment.

Yet, the Huntress is aware that on some level she will fail. In fact, she's terrified of failing and just what that could mean for her. The reason she feels she might fail relates to just how deeply she feels connected to the opera Der Freischütz. In the opera she, and to an extent The Major, draw the comparison of her to the character Kaspar who made a deal with the devil. In a sense, she made the very same deal when she became a vampire and fears that she may suffer the same fate as Kaspar, who at the very end was confronted by the devil and dragged down to hell. It's this very deep connection she feels to the Opera that also makes her draw a comparison of Alucard to the devil in the story, sparking her fears of him and all out panic when she meets him for the second time.

Yet, despite her fear, she's also determined to try and defy the very fate she fears by finally pulling herself together and trying to fight back. Rip has a strong will to survive even if the odds are against her.

But, just as she's a determined to defy her fate, there is another more brutal side to the huntress that comes into play. Rip enjoys the bloodshed and war as much as anyone else in Millennium. Maybe a little more so than most. She takes great pleasure in carrying out her mission, especially the part about getting rid of traitors and gleefully dispatches every single one before completely claiming the ship as her own.

However, just as she's brutal in actions, she can also be brutal with her words by saying just the right thing to make someone doubt themselves long enough to take them by surprise and kill them off. It was how she managed to kill the traitors to begin with! She's not above bluntly manipulating her victims just to get the upper hand in a fight when she can.

It especially comes as a shock considering how innocent she may seem and that's something else she tends to use to her advantage and despite her brutal nature, Rip does have moments where it may be hard to believe she's a ruthless killer. The very same woman can also be seen singing and dancing in anticipation like a child waiting for cake or some eagerly anticipated toy. She can easily switch from brutal to childish with out much provocation.

It's her eager youthfulness that is completely opposite of most of the villain characters in the series. She acts friendly and cheerful despite the destruction around her, even coming off as extremely childish and enthusiastic. It also doesn't help that she looks the part as well with a friendly face and freckles that lures her enemies into a false security.

Then there is the side of her that comes out while she waits. When there is no fighting or a need to punish others, Rip can appear to be calm. She can also appear to be pleasant and friendly. She can be seen calmly waiting for the right time to begin her attack and even calm on the helicopter ride over to the Adler. You could say it's her in-between state when there aren't intense emotions to motivate her actions.

When Rip experiences any emotion, it's intense. Especially when it's fear. In fact, the intensity she experiences her fear can freeze her in her tracks, rob her of her confidence and leave her a crying, trembling little girl, lost and unsure of what to do. This initially happens when she meets Alucard on the Adler. She felt his massive presence and panics as he slaughters her entire crew. It takes her a bit to regain her determination and fight back, but when that fails, she falls back into an intense fearful state that leaves her helpless to the devil's actions, resulting in her painful death.

Rip fears being powerless to a monster more powerful than her. She fears her death by his hands but, because of the intensity of this fear, she ends up causing the very thing she fought to avoid.

Abilities:
Enhanced endurance, speed, strength and enhanced senses from being an artificial Vampire. She's also an experienced sharpshooter/sniper that can potentially control her shot to hit a target multiple times. And she has a lovely singing voice.

She probably broke something she shouldn't have. Like mirrors. Lots of them.
Or, she made a deal with the Ringmaster for a better chance at surviving against Alucard.

Either one would work ~~kinda really like the mirrors breaking though~~

Rip in the TDM

She glanced at the mirror in annoyance. Really after her little issues with the mirror maze, Rip tended to be wary of most mirrors she came across at the carnival. But, she had a need to check her appearance before she started to wander the carnival grounds.

The huntress was leisurely on the prowl and keeping her sharp eyes out for any kind of trouble the new visitors might bring to this lovely little piece of vibrant hell she found herself stuck in for the next year and a day. Just the thought of it made her pout! To be tricked when she was angry...

Still, here she was and softly humming as she passed a crowd of visitors. For a moment, she thought she caught a glimpse of someone attempting to snitch from a vendor and turned her full attention on them. A quick glance and noticing her fangy smile and they were quickly on their way again...

Sometimes, just a smile was enough to get the job done! Though, she definitely preferred it when they resisted~. It made her task much more entertaining.
