Years after the war, the world has been peaceful. No more monsters. No more ghouls. No more vampires... other than Seras, being the last vampire left who stayed with her by her side within the manor. World peace was won, but at a price and cost of so many lives lost on that night...and Integra remembered that night so well...that the night lives on in her nightmares and in her guilt, even though the cost to victory was necessary. Including loosing the Count. He was maybe a monster, but to have her Count lost in a dimension in the space beyond Sera's senses and to simply...vanish without trace. Her butler, Walter, was later discovered lost within in the ashes in the ruins of the zeppelin where the Major's last battalion rode that night.
The manor was quiet and besides the former police girl and her staff, she lives alone. There's no end of field reports to answer and account concerning the war to be filed to the government. Beneath the manor's in the basement, the Helsing's secret lies empty and silent too. Alucard's obsidian tomb remained untouched for years, collecting dust and cobwebs, awaiting for it's Master's return that perhaps someday...even if it takes a century or a thousand years.
For now even that room is quiet like night and death.
One night, it came to Integra's attention in a form of a field report that there's a string of gruesome murders on the other side of the world within the jungles of the Amazonian rainforests in Brazil. Starting from a string of animals to the villages, and then the murderer moved on to small towns. What's particular and familiar to her is the appearance of ghouls...a group of zombies that were prowling through the wild and in her knowledge, only a vampire can make them and control them, and within the videos, the villagers and townspeople are fighting for their lives and survival against the zombies.
It can't be...only Seras is the vampire registered under her command, and Seras wouldn't do such a thing to attack people and make them into ghouls...
Her answer to the problem is immediate and she was on high alert. Integra spent a fortune hiring the best mercenaries in the world and taking Seras along, they flew from England to Brazil, and the moment they arrived, they begin the hunt and followed a trail of villages where corpses and ghouls can be found. Her band of company quelled the swarm of zombies to laid them to rest...and as the hunt and chase for the original source and controller wears on through the week, it was until at last they found her.
It was almost the peak of dawn when they at last cornered the Huntress. The sun over the horizon is threatening to come out soon, but it was Integra strategy to hunt her down until there's no option left, to exhaust her, and pushed her until morning and blocked her escape routes to prevent her escape out of the country.
Rip will find herself cornered by a group of a men with their guns being aimed straight at her while being pinned down on the ground by Seras to hold her down to prevent her from running and escape. What Rip will see is a tall, blonde woman wearing glasses and it's apparent she is the leader of the group, and it's obviously she's the one who is chasing her who planned this chase with her men...and Integra is aiming a tranquilizer gun at her point blank.
"It's you..." Integra recognized her. From a field report her agent sent her years ago when Alucard was still around before he vanished. While the report is short, and at the time, Integra thought it's possibly nothing. After all, Rip was only a subordinate and bait for the Millennium group to lead to Alucard's downfall. But this vampire...it's the last one of her kind next to Seras, and possibily carries whatever remains of Alucard's blood within her veins...if only there's a chance Rip carries his blood within her.
"Anything to say of yourself?" She said, interrogating her with such a angry scowl on her face. "No, forget it. I'm done. Go down you." Integra was mad. She's hot. She's sweaty. She's itchy from being bitten from bugs. She's exhausted from chasing Rip through hundred if not thousands of miles through the jungle of the rainforest. She hated Brazil and wanted to go back to England's mild climate already.
Did she give her a chance to speak? Probably not. Integra didn't give her a chance and wanted this hot mess to be over it and done. For the safety and security for all. She was too infuriated and crossed at all the animals and tribes that were gone because of Rip's feral bloodlust and instinct. Still, Integra wanted her alive and to be taken back to England for further study.
So, in mere seconds, Integra squeezed the trigger many times and several dart syringe containing the strongest tranquilizer known to man were shot in Rip's arms with an unpleasant sting, enough to knock her out for a few days hopefully.
When the war ended and the battlefield had been left in smoldering embers, Rip had been one of the last being left of the millions of lives Alucard had consumed over his long life. Somehow she had retained enough of herself not to be wiped away like the rest and survived. There was little doubt Rip was a survivor.
For the next few years, she laid low, traveling and heading back to Brazil almost on instinct as her hunger grew to insatiable levels. Rip could feel the darkness and insanity of him in her blood and yet, she fought hard to keep it at bay. Only, the hunger made it harder and harder to do.
At first, she'd feel and kill the ghouls she made, making sure to leave not a trace of her presence lest she draw the attention of Hellsing. She hadn't wanted that...Rip wanted to live. But, as the hunger and madness grew, she was finding it harder to control and slipped further into the Jungles of the Amazon. She stuck to animals, feeding from them but, it was never enough. She moved to feeding off villages... and still wasn't enough.
Then finally, she lost it. Rip fell to her instincts and started to slaughter everything in her sight, feeding and gorging her self, leaving ghouls behind as she sought a way to try and end her madness! Then the soldiers came and for a moment she remembered a part of herself. Her old military training shined through as she evaded and killed, forcing them to chase her all over the landscape as she decimated it!
But, that could only last for so long before they caught up to her. The battle with Seras had been long and bloody but, she lacked the powers that the other had despite her own skills and vicious ferocity. In the end she was pinned down, struggling and swearing at them in German as she fought like mad to get free. Even this close, they could see she had lost herself in part.
She glared at the blonde with the gun as she stood above her and then screamed when she felt the tranquilizers hit her arm, punching into her flesh. Her struggling slowed until finally she was still. They'd only have a few days to figure out what to do with her.
Where Seras was the last true vampire. Rip was...something. Artificial Vampire? Former Familiar? Rip was definitely something.
The moment the huntress was out cold and sedated from the drug, a wash of relief hits everyone at last, and Integra have truly lived up to her ancestor's name. After this, she hoped peace is restored to the citizens of Brazil. Integra have long thought her vampire hunting days are over, but it seems now she has some work cut out for her. Integra was always tense, and perhaps phobic whenever she was in the presence of these violent undead bloodsuckers that she was glad Alucard and Seras took care of it for her. Her mask of clinical calm was to really hide her phobia of these monsters...and she prayed Rip is indeed the last one. If she is anything like the Valentine brothers, then she can order Seras to kill her...even if it's a mercy killing.
Integra visibly relaxed, and with the help of her company, they carried Rip's body into a box cargo made of steel, obviously made and built to contain her and to be carried over on the plane. Nobody asked why she wanted Rip alive other than Seras, to whom she explained, "I want her alive to study what's in her blood and the source of her vampirism."
How Rip was alive? Did Alucard lied on the report that he killed her? Up until now, Alucard merely smiled and grinned, and for all of these years, Integra did wondered why he was laughing that night when she saw the video. But much has been left to the imagination...and unanswered questions. Her Servant tends to be cryptic when she asked him questions. It's like asking Darkness and the Darkness answers back...with a laugh.
Regardless, the trip back to England was a long one on the plane over the Atlantic oceans. Integra dreaded filing reports to the Brazilian government, since it's no secret that her Organization has ties to these vampires who were once under control of the Millennium group...and Rip is the last survivor from that group.
As to what Integra planned to do with her, she plan to study her once they arrived home.
When Rip woke up and came to, she found herself inside a spacious cell, and on her person, she's wearing a typical hospital gown. Her cell was dark at first, but when the lights were turned on, dimly so the brightness won't overwhelmed her senses and she can see Integra wearing a white labcoat on the other side of the thick shatterproof glass as a barrier between them. Inside of her cell is a bed cot, and a door that leads to a bathroom and showever. On the drawer next to the bed is a provided blood bag labeled type O+ for her to drink as Integra suspected her hunger. The door that lead to the way out as the only entrance and exit? Locked and sealed with steel.
Where are they? She doesn't know. But Integra imprisoned her in her underground laboratory beneath her manor. It was the Helsing's well-kept secret, this secret laboratory. The same laboratory where her grandfather conducted experiments on Alucard centuries ago and it was rebuilt to look like a state of the art laboratory. Beyond the glass, Rip can also see Seras observing and standing in the background though wearing her police girl uniform, standing by on guard to make sure her Mistress is safe.
Integra was sitting by the desk, typing on the computer. Surrounding her, there is equipment that seem to be medical equipment and technology that of a scientific nature. Integra is typing up a report, and when Rip came to some degree of consciousness, Integra turned on the intercom to speak to her, her voice came through in her cell room.
"Ms. Rip van Winkle. Is that your name? I am asking you to see if you are aware of your self. Do you know where you are and what year it is for you?" Integra voice is even, steady, an calm like that of a doctor, and she asking her questions to test for cognition and awareness, to see if she isn't a mindless vampire.
When Rip started to come to, she was groggy and had to take her time slowly coming out of her drugged state. When she finally felt like her limbs were lead and able to move, she sat up on the edge of the cot she had been laying on and vaguely realized that she wasn't in her usual clothes. Instead, she was in some flimsy hospital gown in a dim room.
She winced as the lights slowly came on and also came to the quick realization she was missing her glasses. They probably got lost or broken in the fight, leaving her with hazy vision as she tried to get her head to clear a little more. Without her sight, she was reliant on her sense of hearing and scent to get around.
Thankfully, she caught the scent of the bloodbag easily enough and the moment she was able to move she was stumbling towards it and wincing as she stubbed her bare toes on the table before she grabbed the bag and tore into it, savoring the fact that it was O+ as it poured down her throat. There.. better. She rubbed her eyes and realized there was.. a window before her with figures beyond it.
She couldn't make out who they were but, the moment she heard that voice she had a good idea of who was behind it and that left her on guard considering what her last hazy memories were. "Zhat's First Lieutenant Rip van Winkle to you." She growled slightly. Even with her battalion gone and the wars she fought in long over, she did still have a military rank and until she was satisfied they weren't going to kill her, she was going to insist on it!
"I earned zhat rank on my own und you vill use it." Did that answer her question on whether or not Rip was a mindless vampire? She had her moments of lucidity from the madness and apparently this was one of those times. "So yes, I'm avare of myzelf you limey bitch." She huffed softly. "Und no, I don't know vat year it is. I hafn't exactly been paying attention since..." She hesitated and then shook her head. "Az for vhere I am, I'm vhere ever you took me."
Integra certainly did not like that tone! She was extremely irked by being called a limely bitch and her eyebrow twitched at the insult, but her steely mind is well suited commanding on the battlefield and also clinical on the medical field and she ignored the swearing. She typed on the computer faster as she makes a batterly report on her psychological condition to be kept for her own records. For now, to Integra, she's observing Rip like an animal that is contained within a cell and Integra is more or less a zookeeper keeping her in check.
Good, some self awareness and she remembered her name. Only a certain degree of disorientation. Not a mindless vampire, so perhaps she has some memories intact. "It's 2003 and you're in my laboratory." Integra answered. So close to 3 going to 4 years have passed since the war. "And you lost the right to the rank when you killed so many lives in Brazil and during the war, so to me you're Ms. Rip, but I think you're an animal and not so much as a true vampire. So," Here comes the sass. "No I won't, Ms. Lieutenant~. The war is over and your damned organization is no more to threaten this world. Everyone in that group is killed and you are the last." And the way Integra said this, she was relieved to say since in a modern age, the ideas of vampirism and Nazism no longer have a place in a peaceful world. She found such ideologies dreadful and she wants to protect this world.
"I am Sir Integra Helsing. But it's Doctor Helsing if you will. Alucard is my Servant and my agent, and I sent him to destroy your ship that night." With a huff, as the work of running tests on her has begun and the computer is scanning her, giving her information from brain waves, pulse, blood pressure...information she taken when she was unconscious and asleep from the drugs hours ago. "I ran tests on you when you were unconscious, took your blood, and you are tested positive for containing Alucard's blood."
Integra rested her chin on her hands leaning on the desk so she can look at her properly. "So, if your memory is as good as your swearing, then tell me what happened to you that night. Did he bite you?" Or God forbid had sex with her on the ship perhaps and that was why Alucard was happy that night? Hell, he told her he ate her on the field report, but years later, Integra now wondered if that was a lie. Because...vampires and damned Alucard. She never gets them. Other than studying about them, both in the occult science and medical science, and how they were turned from life to death to undead. Seras said she don't recall anything on that night other than had her throat bitten and blood drank because she become unconscious when Alucard took her back, and she became a true vampire after drinking the mercenary blood months later.
2003? Rip paused, tilting her head just trying to comprehend that and the fact that she was in the Hellsing's labratory along with everything else that was being said. She definitely didn't like the fact she was stripped of her ranking and that gained a hazy glare from the former huntress as Integra kept speaking.
Tests were run on her. Wonderful, not this again. She had enough of testing when Dok was alive! And now to go through it again with the enemy? She was less than thrilled. Especially when it came to the part about being considered more of an animal than vampire. Admittedly, Rip didn't know what the hell she was anymore. Things were still.. hazy.
"I am vell avare of vho you are und vho Alucard vas. One doesn't forget zheir murder und.." She became uneasy as she remembered flashes of that night. The fire, the smoke.. the screaming and the feel of him on her and his fangs on her neck. Her hand went to her neck and then down to her chest. Both of which were scarred, something Integra would have noticed during the examination. Where the scarring on her neck was hard to tell, the scar on her chest as that of an impalement scar. One entrance.. one exit.
"Biting is putting it mildly. He did more zhan zhat as he devoured me." And then..."...Last zhing I remember is being in London und answering his call." She shook her head, not sure what that meant. So yes, there was a lot more than just killing her that happened that night.
"Vhy zhe hell vould I haf his blood? I'm not his fledgling or zomething."
Basing on her answers, it's similar to Seras. Suffered a physical trauma followed by emotional and then the slow transformation. Once again, Alucard's fault. But other than that, nothing else. So that free Alucard from further suspicion other than being what he is, a tool of her will. Though her grandfather warned her of his sexual escapades in the past, and to take care not to feel any affection for him and guard her heart as the bloodline and vow of the Helsing is to protect humanity from these monsters...even if its the sin of his blood traced back to him as the singular source.
Even if he's gone for all of these years...well nevermind. Back to the task at hand.
"Hm. I see..." Other than that, she didn't say anything and rather not question further. Just like Seras, she doesn't remember anything and even she swears Alucard didn't see her that way. As if Integra wants to believe the both of them. "Hmph, those Millennium freaks were nosy back in the day I see." She is glad to destroy every one last of them.
"He must have mixed his blood with yours at one point during the war." At the mention of biting, there's a bit of...feeling irked, perhaps a pang of jealousy. There's no answer from her for the next half an hour. Still, she's focused on her task. "You have roughly 20% of his blood within you indicating the source of your vampirism came from him, the source, the original blueprint."
Integra typed away at her computer and when the report is finally finished, she reads a fragment of her findings out into the microphone. "No abnormal brain activity to rule out epilepsy and seizures...low blood pressure and low blood cell count, bradycardiac. Blood sugar and insulin levels normal. Otherwise, your vitasl is quite within normal limits and you're just another bloodsucker. Your activity in Brazil is more psychological. I wonder if your bloodlust is the result of the cross blood interaction and how it effects your brain." She said. "You're lucky you don't have any food poisoning when you were drinking from those animals. Though I won't be surprised if you get stomach flu from poor interaction and poor diet of human and animal blood."
Turning to Seras for a bit, "You didn't the suffer the same effect of the bloodlust as the patient here. In your case, your bloodlust is activated during battle. I'll have to conduct further tests."
Seras, looked thoughtful. "Well, that because I drank Pip's blood and he gave it to me."
"Hmm, that maybe the case. A blood given is different than a blood that got mixed up during an accident or given or take by force." Turning back to Rip. "Well, that concludes tonight evaluation." Seeing the blood bag is already empty.
The good news, Integra had said she is her patient besides animal. Or perhaps a text subject in her examination? The machines in the room, though they seem to have a medical use, who knows what other uses Integra might know and have in store. "Well, you're a trooper." She said in a chipper tone. "You should feel grogginess and drowsiness as the side-effect. The drug was meant as a sedation. That's enough dosage to knock out a tiger, so to speak, and perhaps I might given you a tad too much...but you're a vampire so I trust the drug will even out from your system and you should feel fine tomorrow." Is she grinning about overdosing her on purpose?
"Now do you have any questions?" She's ready to call it a night.
If Integra ever wondered about Alucard's sexual exploits, Rip could confirm he liked playing with his prey. She definitely remembered that as he tortured and ate her. Or at least, she thought he devoured her...That's what it felt like though how would that explain how she got to London? That's the part she's hazy on and wasn't sure how to explain.
Rip snorted at the woman's comment about Millennium being busy back in the day. They had been given a task and they completed it like they were supposed to! Rip even volunteered for the experiment that created them once Dok perfected it and unfortunately, she was only one of two women to survive the process. Other's weren't so lucky so who really knew what that did to her.
"He did more zhan mix blood vith me on the ship." her voice was a low growl as she shook her head and rubbed her eyes. They hurt from her lack of glasses as she at back on the cot. True, she was still groggy and felt like her limbs were lead... and that annoyed her to no end. Then to hear that she was within normal parameters for a vampire? She snorted softly. She could have told the woman that.
As for the psychological part and how her body had been.. behaving.. she had to wonder herself. "No my fault zhe food source vas questionable. I didn't exactly haf much in zhe vay of choices." Not to mention, she's eaten worse. She'd be surprise if she got sick over it in the next few days. As for the rest though...She wasn't surprised she was overdosed on purpose.
"Actually... Yes. Vhen can I get new glasses? I can't see vithout zhem."
Integra was unfortunately teased by him, and a part of her wondered if he had done it on purpose to her to get a rise out of her, as Integra was serious and straight to the point to get him to finish the mission and the tasks she set out for him. And he teased her because Integra has no hope to live a normal life or even get married due to being very focused on her role and to her career.
No explanation needed or necessary as Integra had seen the videos. She and Seras found them to look for any clues when they salvaged the ruined zeppelin when the Major recorded pretty much everything of his twisted and awful achievements. Rip's last moments of life and suffering at his hands, and her death was recorded, and Integra made her best efforts to archived everything happened in that terrible year.
"I know. I had seen the video. It was recorded. Your leader recorded everything. He was a sick man." Or rather a robot who carries the evil will of a twisted prodigy and mind. She sighed. Her previous ire and jealousy was soon perished, as she realized her ideal of the count was a mere fantasy. Afterward, when the war is over, she pursued her dream of becoming a doctor to resume a normal life and go with the flow of time.
Integra shut down her computer to end her task for the night. At her request, there's a bit of amusement...and pity for the monster she locked up in the cell. A formal criminal asking for new glasses? Well, her cell only contains a bed with no t.v or even books to read. No entertainment. While the cell is clean, comfortable, and bland white...it's a small space when there's a big world outside. But a monster must be contained.
Then with consideration, Integra gazed at the other woman evenly with her icy blue eyes. Her glasses glare from the light. "Hmph. So, you asked that of me? Do you think you deserved it after what you did to those people before we found you?"
In other words, Integra believed she should suffer and kept her locked up as her prisoner, to keep the world safe. Even though there's a fair amount of Alucard's blood mixing in her veins, it's far too much that her vampirism is irreversible, permanent, and no cure. It's only fair for the pain and suffering she did to those people in Brazil. Integra, even she practiced ethics of a doctor and know the weight of compassion, she wants to weight fairness and justice as well.
Rip tensed slightly when videos of that night were mentioned. Did he really record all of that? Her last moments and what as done to her recorded for all eternity...Wasn't it bad enough she was forced to remember it!? Rip shifted on the cot she sat on and closed her sapphire eyes. They just hurt too much to keep open for the moment which left her completely blind in the stark white room.
Perhaps it was the lighting or the lack of dark colors of some sort that irritated them so much. Who really knew. For now, she was left with her other senses telling her what was going on and right now, that meant listening to her jailer.
"Vat I did I couldn't control und I did for survival." She growled, her head tilting as she turned towards the sound of Integra's voice. "Zhe madness und hunger vere zomething I cannot control. Vatever your pet did to me, I can't fight it." Not right now anyway. Rip didn't know how. So, perhaps Integra was right in locking up a creature like her.
And yet, Rip hated the fact that she was confined and couldn't see more than very blurry shapes and shadows. "If you're going to keep me here az zome sort of lab rat, at least let me see vat you're doing."
A headache is threatening to rise on the back of Integra's head. Making the connections and connecting the dots, once again, all of Rip's actions can be traced back to Alucard's madness and sin. Rip is really testing Integra's sense of mercy, with her values of being a protestant knight. If Rip and Integra would be on more amicable terms, Integra may grant her access to the archive library to study what happened that night as Integra kept journals, videos, newspapers that year so she could never forget...her triumph and her shame.
"He's a servant, not a pet. And that's still not a good excuse for the lives that you had taken. Including the animals and children, and the broken families you upset and left behind. Every life counts." As to Rip's life and value, well after chasing after her through the rainforest, Integra has a good idea to end her life out of mercy...yet a part of Alucard is within Rip, and Integra scientific and medical curiosity is what spared Rip...for now. As Rip may hold some value in that regard, but she is right that she might be a Helsing labrat.
With a sigh, Integra turned off the lights completely, leaving everything in the room, including Rip's cell completely dark and silent. The only light is the doorway that leads her out of the laboratory. From Integra's point of view, she's going to take the stairs to go up to the upper floors of the manor.
Integra said nothing else to her request other than a curt, "We shall see. Until then, good night." Not that she wants to get close to her. Despite being a skilled vampire slayer, she is very phobic of vampires that she even asked Seras to keep her distance. If she wanted to do an examination, she already had Seras in mind to assist her to get what she wanted or needed.
Meaning if Rip wanted glasses, Seras will be doing the eye examination...but she has to wait tomorrow evening.
As with the laboratory dark and silent, leaving Rip alone in her cell and just wearing nothing else but a hospital gown, with nothing to do and nothing to see, it's going to be a very long, long night and to simply wait...until Integra decides to visit her again the next evening.
Hopefully someday they would be on pleasant terms. Though, that would be along way off for now. Not while she was kept under a microscope and Integra trying to figure out what Alucard did to her.
Whatever it was, it left it's mark on Rip worse than even the experiment she volunteered for did. Whether she wanted to believe that a part of the Dark Hunter lived within her or not, Rip had to face the fact that something happened that night, something she couldn't quite remember or understand. The journals and notes in the archives might hold the clue to it and hopefully they'd be able to piece it together some day.
"If every life counts, zhen vat about mine." She wanted to say more when everything went dark. There was a blurry light for a moment then.. nothing. Rip had been left with the silence and pure darkness for the day and it didn't sit well with her.
She tried to sleep but, the silence was something she couldn't stand. There had always been noise. The sound of animals, humans.. even insects. She tossed and turned before getting up and pacing. It took her a few times to learn the layout of her small cell before she was moving through it with ease in the darkness. At this point, her blindness was a gift. She paced, laid down.. tossed, turned. Even sang to herself before she finally fell asleep.
However, once she started to sleep.. the nightmares began. The smell of smoke, the sound of crackling flames.. The laugh of madness and the destruction around her. Rip whimpered in her sleep but as her nightmares got worse, she started to violently toss and turn on her cot. Eventually, she woke up screaming and sobbing.
By the time they check on her again, Rip would be curled up in a corner of her cell with her legs drawn up to her chest and her arms wrapped around them, hugging herself tight and trying to be as small as possible despite her 6'2 frame. She had one of the blankets draped over her shoulder.. and by the looks of it, she barely slept.
[All this talk as of late regarding foreign investors and oversea contracts has helped expand the Saejima clan beyond the limits of Japan. However, this great expansion comes at a price that Yasu couldn't exactly justify. He doesn't like the idea of playing chauffeur for some German woman in a suit but here he is braving the Tokyo traffic. He peeks up at the rear-view mirror in hopes of catching a glimpse at his passenger. Unfortunately, they're stuck at a red light and traffic is pretty heavy. Yasu knew better than to take the main streets but he didn't think the highway would be just as congested.]
This is the pits.
[He mutters in Japanese as he glances back at the road. For once, he's dressed rather nicely in a ornate black suit with hints of red along the cuffs, the jacket and the long black silk tie. Yasu looks pretty good even though he's still wearing those ridiculous turquoise shades. It's the middle of the evening, he doesn't need to wear sunglasses at this time but he doesn't seem to care.]
...I apologize for the wait. [He thinks to say in order to cut through the uncomfortable silence.] It's still a little busy on the roads.
[Yasu brushes the errant blond strands out of his eyes. The streaks haven't grown out just yet.]
[To be honest, Rip hadn't been too thrilled to be sent half way across the world for a business meeting on behalf of her own organization. She had argued against going vehemently but, in the end she lost the argument and had been forced to go. The only caveat she got was that she was allowed to carry her own firearms.
Of them, she only carried a handgun with her. The rest were hidden within her luggage, including a rather.. suspiciously long case that held her most prized possession. All of which were to be delivered to her rooms separate from her. Unfortunately, this did little to ease her as they made their way slowly through traffic.
Not that she let it show. Rip was quiet and watching the world outside the tinted windows. Even with it being evening, she had to be careful considering her own vampiric status. Even her dark blue suit with it's matching tie and pale lavender dress shirt had been tailored with her kind in mind, making sure to cover most of her skin and even including white gloves. Really the only part of her not covered were her head and neck and even then..
Rip idly brushed some of her long raven black hair over her shoulder as she heard him mutter in Japanese. It was a language she recently learned so, there were still some phrases and words that she struggled with. But, that? She understood it and silently agreed even if she didn't say anything until he switched over to something he assumed she knew.]
It iz fine. Ve are in no rush since zhe night is still zo young.
[She finally glanced towards him, her sapphire blue eyes studying him in the rear view mirror just line he might be doing her. Rip looked like she was in her early twenties, maybe younger and almost innocent looking in a strange way. But, then again looks were very deceiving, weren't they.]
Besides, zhe jet lag vill haf me..useless for a day or two as I adjust to zhe new timezones. I'm sure your bosses haf made accommodations for zhat.
[Blue eyes? A faint chuckle escapes Yasu once he notices. The only other person he knew with blue eyes was Rachel. Regrettably, Yasu hasn't met many foreigners nevertheless other vampires. Even as a half breed, Yasu can acutely sense the presence of other supernatural beings quite easily. However, this woman is one of the few vampires he actually seen. Not many of them venture this far east despite the business prospects here in Japan. That is until now.]
Don't worry. [He answers after a slight pause.] The Saejima clan has prepared proper lodgings to accommodate our otherworldly clients.
[While Yasu might seem a tad too quiet and awkward at times, he carries himself like a businessman. He's a professional in every sense of the word and right now, he's tasked with the safety of their esteemed guest from Germany. So, she's in good hands. Although, Yasu could tell that this suit-clad woman brought a bit of heat with her.]
The estate isn't too far from here. We just have the traffic to worry about.
[He quietly drums his fingers against the steering wheel once the lulling lyrics of Shura no Hana starts. Yasu always been a fan of the classics, especially of Meiko Kaji's works. This is the closest he'll ever come to pop music. He's not a fan of most of the modern stuff and for good reason. Pop music nowadays lack soul and depth. Everything is just as generic in presentation as the pretty boys and gals singing about love and romance. It's all such a bore for Yasu.]
[She nodded slightly, her eyes lingering on the features she saw in the mirror for a few minutes more before taking her gaze away and looking back out the window once more. There was something tugging on her senses as she sat there and it was causing her no small amount of confusion.
Something about her driver felt both vampiric and not at the same time. As if he was half and this would be the first time she's ever encountered a 'half breed' with how rare they were even back west...Rip didn't even know if there was a word for it in all honesty.
If that was indeed what he was.
For now though, she was just focused on their surroundings and the music playing from the radio which surprisingly caught her attention with its slightly.. haunting sound? She glanced towards him again, her sharp ears following the lyrics even if she wasn't sure what half of them meant.]
Zhe song sounds beautiful...I've heard Japan haz a sense of music all its own in zome regards.
[As for her lodgings however..]
Und I'm sure Zhe Saejima Clan is vell prepared for my visit. Everyzhing I haf heard about your Clan has been exceptional und it iz vhy my Boss vishes for an alliance if ve can broker one.
[Yasu could see her peeking at him from the mirror. Freckles. Besides the vibrant blue eyes, she has lots of little freckles across her cheeks. It's kind of...cute in a way. Very cute, actually. Her peculiar freckles remind him of the faint mole on his right cheek. It's a blemish that never quite faded. Yasu had it since childhood, a momento of the father he never met.]
That we do. [He replies with a faint chuckle.] While Europe has Mozart and Bach, we have Tōru Takemitsu and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
[He states with some pride.]
However, that's the late Meiko Kaji singing now. She was quite beloved in the seventies. A real songstress with a beautifully haunting voice who sung about the darker side of love.
[He quiets once the woman mentions his boss. While Yasu has his personal misgivings about this would be alliance with alleged "nazis", he knew when to keep his mouth shut. His personal opinions don't matter here but he can't help but feel a tad jaded about this unholy alliance.]
Money. [He mutters once traffic finally starts moving.] Your boss has money, lot's of it. The Saejima clan is more than willing to do business with foreigner investors as long as they have money.
[A smirk curls onto his lips as he focuses on the busy road ahead.]
We pirate the best weaponry from the Black Market for your war and you folks pay us handsomely for it. Capitalism at it's finest.
[She'd notice the mole and thought it gave him character, much like her own dusting of freckles did. While he talked about music, she nodded and made a mental note to check out the artists he mentioned in her spare time. If they sounded anything like what was on the radio now, she was interested in listening.
However once the talk turned more towards business, she stilled a bit. Money was quite the factor here and her Organization had a lot of it. Spoils from a previous war funding the oncoming new one once they had the resources and weaponry for it. The confrontation in question was the war waged by her Major, fifty years in the making..
Rip was just destined to play her part in it just like the rest in the grand bloody opera he conducted. Though, right now her part consisted of securing weaponry with any means necessary and that meant this unholy little alliance.]
Zhen ve haf plenty of money so your veaponry vill be put to fine use for our purposes.
[She sighed softly and adjusted her wire rimmed glasses.]
Zhough, I haf to ask. Vat is your part in zhis clan of yours? You don't strike me as just zome common driver.
What's my part in all this? [Despite her thick accent, Yasu understood her perfectly but that doesn't prompt him to answer her any faster.] That's a good question.
[Now that traffic is moving again, Yasu speeds up a little. It seems there was a three man collision further up the road. The faint scent of burning oil and singed metal catches his nose. Barely any blood. Seems that the victims involved all survived with minimum injuries. Nevertheless, the scent of blood makes his fangs ache.]
Angel. [He announces suddenly after turning off the free way and into the city streets ahead.] I'm their....Angel of Death.
[Yasu isn't about to speak of his affiliation with the boss but maybe she'll understand what he means there. He's a hitman, an assassin born and raised. His mother tried to carve out a decent life for him but his violent urges made that quite difficult.]
Some would claim that I'm more of a "devil" than an "angel" but I disagree.
[She sat up a little straighter when she realized there had been an accident before them further up in the road. Like him, she caught the scent of burning oil and singed metal. Though, she thought it was strange there was barely any blood beneath all the machinery.
Of course, it.. made her a little hungry as well. The scent of blood would always excite a vampire, even if it's a small amount.
Her thoughts were pulled from the collision as they turned down another street, leaving the freeway behind while he answered her question. The answer told her all she needed to know and even made her smile slightly.]
Zhat's adorable. Zhey sent zheir Angel of Death to guard Millennium's Huntress.
[In a way, she found it funny. Rip was in a similar position in her own organization. Where all of them had the ability to kill, her methods were the cleanest that left no trace of vampire involvement. Assassin might be one word for what she did. Sniper was her preferred word for it.]
I never miss. Perhaps ve should find a shooting range und see vho might be zhe better marksman if zhere is time.
Adorable? [That earns an eyebrow raise from Yasu who huffs a laughs.] That's a first.
[While he's mentally rolling his eyes, Yasu can't help but be a little intrigued. This isn't his first time running into a female assassin. The great Aomame comes into mind. Named after Murakami's beloved femme fatal, she was an orphan from Osaka who watched her parents be brutally killed right before her eyes by their boss. To say the least, it was a messy affair that nearly cost him his life. It's not right to compare the German to her but they both possess that same air of danger.]
Never? [He smirks a little.] Even when you blink?
[All jokes aside, he believes her. She has no reason to lie about something and it shows. Yasu straightens his posture some once they reach the drive way of the grand seemingly glass building up head.]
Sure. [He finally answers once he finds a good parking spot.] I wouldn't mind a decent challenge for a change.
[Once they're all settled, Yasu turns off the engine in perfect sync with Meiko's final few notes. He opens the door and climbs out. After a brief stretch and a chance to smooth down his shirt, Yasu walks towards the rear and opens the door for her.]
Welcome to Hotaru, the Saejima clan's personal oasis in Tokyo.
[What she meant by that was something she wasn't going to elaborate on. Instead she was just going to let his imagination run with it for now and maybe sometime in the future she would clue him in..
Rip was one of the first real successes Millennium had with their...techniques that didn't leave someone a horrific mess and to date, one of the more complete vampires they produced. She took pride in that and her position within the Organization as a whole.
And yet.. she still felt she was lacking. Even now.
Once the car was settled and he was out, she waited for the door to open before stepping out, practically unfolding her 6'2 frame as her long black hair cascaded around her as she stood up.
A hand rested on top of the door as she glanced past her driver towards the rest of the estate, taking in grand building up head. Even the scent of the night was vastly different here compared to her homeland...So rich and timeless.
Rip smiled faintly before turning her attention back to him, studying him once more as if she couldn't quite place something and well, she couldn't.]
You're not a vampire und you aren't human. Vat are you? If you don't mind me asking.
[There's remnants of the past everywhere in Japan. In every nook and cranny there's hints of Japan's feudal era. Even here in Tokyo, there's hints of ancient Edo preserved by the people's idealistic love for the past. It's unlike most cities. Tokyo is in perfect harmony with itself in both the old and the new. An true oasis for romantics who yearn for both tomorrow and yesterday.
Maybe that's why the nights here feel so different because they are.]
Hm? [A faint smirk lingers on his lips once she turns to him.] So you've noticed? I'm surprised.
[Yasu reaches up to his turquoise shades and gently plucks them off. His eyes look as deep as the night itself but with hints of crimson lurking within. She's one of the few to look at him eye to eye. He's quite tall for a Japanese man, the same height as her.]
A dhampir. [He answers at last.] My father was a vampire but I was born to a human mother.
[It's the crimson in his eyes that catches her attention along with his height now that they were standing face to face. So far, she had yet to see anyone her height within this foreign land, until him anyway.
She tilted her head as she studied him, quirking an eyebrow slightly at the unfamiliar term before he stated what it meant.]
Zhen you are quite rare. I vasn't even avare a half breed vas possible.. or zhat zhere vas a vord for it.
[Admittedly, that made him even more interesting to her. Rip leaned in, resting against the door to peer more at him as she mulled something over.]
It also puts you a cut above zhe humans I'll be forced to deal vith. Ve value uniqueness in my Organization und you are definitely zhat. Vho knows, maybe I'll like you enough to stay~.
There's a word for people like me. [Yasu states with a slight curl of lips.] One that's not often said.
[His kind is a rare breed, if not the rarest. Vampires don't often have offspring, this is why their numbers are far and few in between. The reason why the Saejima clan shows such interest in Millennium isn't just because of their money but also because of their "research". It took Boss Tanaka years to acknowledge his grandson's potential but once he did, Tanaka wanted to find any means to harness such power. Even if it met aligning his family with neo-nazis. He wants Yasu's gift, he wants it and plans on using their research to create monsters of his own. Much like the days of World War II, Japan wants in on this war.]
I'm flattered. [He says with a slight nod.] Although, I regret to inform I won't be abandoning my clan anytime soon but I can keep you company.
[With that said, Yasu steps away from the vehicle and onto the sidewalk. He peers at Rip over his shoulder and gives her a flirty grin.]
Zhere are many names for many things~. Perhaps it's not just dumb luck zhat sent me here.
[Rip was beginning to wonder considering she was one of only two women in the entire Organization and the most successful result. But, that couldn't really be the reason, right?
Sending The Captain would have been fruitless, The Major never ventures far from the base, Zorin was too crass.. and the Valentine brothers would have started a blood bath. She had been the obvious choice.
Especially if this clan of his wanted to see the results of their research first hand. Whatever the reason, here she was now and her dear host was proving more and more interesting by the second.]
Vell, if you change your mind, I'll be happy to help~.
[She smirks faintly, noting his flirty grin and might be feeling a little flirty herself.]

Date: 2018-11-01 08:45 pm (UTC)From:The manor was quiet and besides the former police girl and her staff, she lives alone.

Date: 2018-11-01 09:00 pm (UTC)From:It was almost the peak of dawn when they at last cornered the Huntress.

Date: 2018-11-01 09:16 pm (UTC)From:For the next few years, she laid low, traveling and heading back to Brazil almost on instinct as her hunger grew to insatiable levels.

Date: 2018-11-01 09:42 pm (UTC)From:Integra visibly relaxed, and with the help of her company, they carried Rip's body into a box cargo made of steel, obviously made and built to contain her and to be carried over on the plane.

Date: 2018-11-01 09:53 pm (UTC)From:Where are they?
Re: 2/2
Date: 2018-11-01 10:04 pm (UTC)From:She winced as the lights slowly came on and also came to the quick realization she was missing her glasses.

Date: 2018-11-01 10:33 pm (UTC)From:Good, some self awareness and she remembered her name.

Date: 2018-11-01 11:54 pm (UTC)From:Tests were run on her.

Date: 2018-11-02 12:27 am (UTC)From:Even if he's gone for all of these years...well nevermind.

Date: 2018-11-02 12:50 am (UTC)From:Rip snorted at the woman's comment about Millennium being busy back in the day.

Date: 2018-11-02 02:28 am (UTC)From:No explanation needed or necessary as Integra had seen the videos.

Date: 2018-11-02 02:39 am (UTC)From:Perhaps it was the lighting or the lack of dark colors of some sort that irritated them so much.

Date: 2018-11-02 03:37 am (UTC)From:"He's a servant, not a pet.

Date: 2018-11-02 03:49 am (UTC)From:Whatever it was, it left it's mark on Rip worse than even the experiment she volunteered for did.
International Connection
Date: 2019-04-05 06:29 pm (UTC)From:This is the pits.
Re: International Connection
Date: 2019-04-06 02:04 am (UTC)From:Of them, she only carried a handgun with her.

Date: 2019-04-07 03:37 pm (UTC)From:Don't worry.

Date: 2019-04-07 03:56 pm (UTC)From:Something about her driver felt both vampiric and not at the same time.

Date: 2019-04-07 04:46 pm (UTC)From:However once the talk turned more towards business, she stilled a bit.

Date: 2019-04-07 05:21 pm (UTC)From:[Now that traffic is moving again, Yasu speeds up a little.

Date: 2019-04-07 06:37 pm (UTC)From:Of course, it.. made her a little hungry as well.

Date: 2019-04-07 07:58 pm (UTC)From:[While he's mentally rolling his eyes, Yasu can't help but be a little intrigued.

Date: 2019-04-07 08:07 pm (UTC)From:[What she meant by that was something she wasn't going to elaborate on.

Date: 2019-04-08 01:39 am (UTC)From:[His kind is a rare breed, if not the rarest.
Come.

Only if you promise to make me scream first~.
